HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A toddler has been returned to his mother after he was found wandering a southwest Houston street with a pit bull.

The boy, who appeared to be around two years old, was found walking with the family's pit bull dog in the 8000 block of Candle Lane near Braes Forest. He wasn't wearing pants and looked dehydrated.

A deputy patrolling the area then came across the mother as she was searching for her child. She told authorities said she was in backyard of her home when she noticed that her toddler was missing.

The child eventually was returned to his mother, but CPS is investigating the case. The boy has two siblings, a three-year-old and an eight-month-old.
