Tips for parking around the Galleria
ABC13 traffic anchors give advice about parking at the Houston Galleria.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you've been out and about this week, you know traffic has been at a gridlock in some places. It is especially bad since many are trying to finish up holiday shopping.

One of the worst spots is around the Houston Galleria. Our ABC13 traffic anchors have some advice to help drivers navigate around it.

First off, avoid Westheimer at all costs. It gets really clogged up. Instead, you will want to take Westpark to Sage. From there, your best parking options are the Sak's garage off Sage or the tiny entrance to the red garage off West Alabama. It's on the right.

Another option is valet. It costs $11. If you carpool, that's pretty reasonable. Plus, there are multiple places to valet.

If you live near Westheimer, you might want to consider the METRO bus line that goes east and west along Westheimer. METRO increased the frequency of that bus line in the last year.

If you're not headed to the mall but just passing through the area, use Richmond or San Felipe to avoid the worst traffic.
