Three-year-old boy drowns in Brazoria County pond

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A three-year-old boy has drowned in a pond along County Road 34 near County Road 521, the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department confirms to Eyewitness News.

Deputies say the boy had flown into the area with his family from Washington, D.C. They were here to attend the 90th birthday party this weekend for the young boy's great grandmother.

Deputies say around a dozen people were at the home preparing for the party. The family turned their back for a moment, and the child darted out of the house.

The home has surveillance cameras, and deputies say those cameras showed the little boy fall into a pond on the property and drown. The boy's body was pulled out of the water around 1:30am.
