Suspects accused of killing teen on his way home from work
The three suspects appeared in court, where it was determined they should be held without bond

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- They are officially charged with capital murder. Now three young men had their first day in probable cause court to hear from a judge.

Andres Rojo, 19; Edgardo Ligas, 19; and Jorge Castro, 17, are all accused of murdering Rikko Valencia, 19.

It happened November 16, 2014. According to the prosecution, Valencia was walking home from his job at a Whataburger in northwest Houston.

The prosecution believes two of the suspects got out of the vehicle, and demanded cash & belongings. But because he didn't give it to them fast enough, the prosecution believed Rojo shot Valencia in the face at pointblank range.

Later Castro allegedly confessed to a female friend about his involvement, who contacted police.

The capital murder charge could result in either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

All three are being held without bond.
