Teen injured in shooting over a girl in Spring
A group of teens and a mother were involved in an altercation that left one young man injured by gunfire in Spring.

SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A fight over a girl ended with a shoot-out that sent a juvenile to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the arm overnight.

This happened at the Park at Woodland Springs apartment complex on Richard Road at Rayford Road.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies say there was a hail of gunfire after a group of teenaged boys came looking for a fight.

Apparently the young men were trying to fight another teen over a girl.

That teen and his mom lived at the complex.

Detectives say as the group of young men confronted the teen, both the teen and his mom pulled out guns and then the shooting started.

"There was a physical altercation and weapons were drawn," Montgomery County Sheriff's Lt. Brady Fitzgerald said. "There was a series of gun shots. There was a volley of gun shots being fired."

Detectives say the teen who lives at the complex was hit in the arm, the others ran away.

The injured teen was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Deputies say they know who the suspects are, but have not yet made any arrests.
