Teacher accused of relationship with 13-year-old has case reset

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An Aldine ISD teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student was back in court Tuesday.

After she showed up to court, officials had her case reset.

Eyewitness News was there when Alexandria Vera, 24, posted bond last month.

A middle school teacher is wanted by authorities, accused of sexually abusing a child. There's a warrant out for her arrest.

The former Stovall Middle School teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her students, even allegedly getting pregnant by him.

The teacher allegedly aborted that pregnancy.

According to court documents, Vera herself said she was in love with the boy who was a student in her 8th grade English class in summer school.

The boy's parents were said to have approved of the relationship, inviting Vera to family gatherings.

Family of Vera's ex-husband, Josh Olivio, say they were shocked the mother of a 6-year-old child now faces the possibility of 25 years to life behind bars.

Teacher accused of sex of abuse of a child appeared in court Friday.

The step-grandfather of Vera's ex-husband says the two were divorced because she said Olivio was too 'immature.'

Before being released on bond, Vera was ordered by a judge not to have any contact with anyone under the age of 17, including the minor she's accused of abusing.

Vera faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
