An arson suspect is in police custody after police say he barricaded himself in an apartment with his mother

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The SWAT standoff is over in west Houston with an arson suspect in police custody. Police say the man barricaded himself in an apartment.

The building is in the 15000 block of Park Row Drive.

We're learning the man is a suspect in an arson. Police say he set fire to a dumpster last night.

Police say they've talked to his mother who said she was inside the apartment with him. She said at the time of the standoff that she was not a hostage and not in fear for her life.

Police say they heard a shot from inside the apartment, but that shot does not appear to have hurt anyone, including the shooter.

No one was hurt in the two-hour standoff.
