Suspects get away after attempted carjacking and chase in W. Harris Co.

Deputies say they have the suspects surrounded in an area near Greenhouse and Saums in west Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies believe they have two suspects surrounded following an attempted carjacking in west Harris County.

It all started along Fry road near FM 529 when deputies say two suspects in a BMW tried to carjack the driver of a Mercedes. The suspects then took off. Deputies spotted them and a short chase ensued. The suspects managed to get away.

Another deputy then spotted the car at a gas station at Greenhouse and Saums and confronted the suspects, at which time the two suspects ran off into a wooded area.

Deputies surrounded the area and brought in a K-9 unit. At this point, they say they've got the area surrounded and are just waiting out the suspects to come out.

Deputies say two guns were recovered from the BMW. They believe the suspects are juveniles.
