California police seek suspect in 'Mrs. Doubtfire' bank robbery

(Santa Cruz Police Department)

Police in Santa Cruz, California are looking for a man in what they're calling the "Mrs. Doubtfire Bank Robbery."

Officers say the man, dressed as a woman, went to a bank last Friday and handed the teller a note demanding money. He left without hurting anyone.

Just an hour earlier, the same man was seen at another bank. Employees there thought he was acting suspiciously and approached him.

"When the bank employees contacted the suspect they were surprised to see that although the suspect was dressed like a female, the suspect was actually a male," a police release states.

The man, who is approximately 25-35 years old, 160-170 pounds, 5'5" tall, with dark skin, left that location without committing a crime.

The suspect was last seen wearing prescription glasses, a wavy blond wig, navy blue scrubs, and a light purple long sleeve undershirt. Police are asking the public to help identify him so they can make an arrest.
