Man sought in armed robbery
Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who shot a father in front of his son. Jeff Ehling reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston man is lucky to be alive after a shooting at a local ATM and it was all caught on camera.

Houston police say they need your help finding the suspect and they want to to look at the video of the shooting.

The security camera video from October 13 shows a man getting money from an ATM in southwest Houston, and moments later, a suspect emerges from behind a trash can, asks for the money, and then opens fire.

What you do not see is the victim's 8-year-old son sitting in the passenger seat of the victim's car.

After the shooting, the suspect ran away without getting any money. The victim drove his car home to pick up his wife, despite a bullet in his chest.

Houston police say the suspect was just waiting for someone to rob.

HPD's Sgt. Tony Mora said, "This man clearly stalks his victim, you see him squatting behind a trash can and in the video you actually see him looking towards the camera, it's his body motion, the way he moves, the way he stands up, his build, it is all very well defined in the video."

The victim survived, and is recovering.

If you know the suspect or have any information about the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You could get a $5,000 reward.
