Suspect killed after attempting to rob convenience store in northeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A suspect is dead after attempting to rob a convenience store in northeast Houston, authorities said.

According to investigators, a robber entered the Danny's Food Mart on Collingsworth Street around 4:30pm Tuesday with a gun. The would-be robber was shot by the store clerk.

The suspect died at a nearby hospital.

No other details have been released.
