HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspect in the violent shooting of a Baytown store clerk appeared before a Harris County judge on Thursday morning.

Lannis Fontenot, 42, has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $60,000.

Officers are working to identify two others involved in the armed robbery that happened earlier this month at Baytown Market on Market Street.

A violent robbery in which a Baytown store clerk was shot was caught on surveillance camera.

Surveillance video captured the entire incident, from the moment two men with guns entered the store. One jumped on the counter as the other served as a lookout. The clerk complied, handing over almost $2,000, and then tried to fight back with a bat. It is then that the robbers opened fire.

The clerk, a married father of two children, was shot four times -- in the face, left knee, hip and right arm. He is recovering from knee surgery following the attack.

Investigators believe another man came into the store earlier to case it.

The suspects got away in a silver 2011 or 2012 Chevy Malibu, according to police.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Baytown Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS (8477) or text keyword "Baytown" plus the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
