San Jose police have arrested and booked 30-year-old Martin Martinez in the murders of five people in Modesto, California.

Early Sunday morning, police spotted Martinez' SUV, a 2000 red Lincoln Navigator, on Lucerne Way, just north of the Reid Hillview Airport.

Moments later, officers took him into custody.

Saturday afternoon, officers were called for a security check at a home on Nob Hill Court and when they arrived, they found five bodies inside - two adults and three children.

Detectives have established that all the victims are related, are all females, and the children's ages range from 6mos-6yrs.

Martinez has had a past relationship with one of the victims and is the biological father of one of the deceased children, Modesto police say. No motive or cause of death will be released at this time.

Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the red Lincoln Navigator traveling to San Jose last night to call Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
