Surveillance video captured the incident at a northeast Houston convenience store

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Dramatic surveillance video shows the moments at least five thieves smash their way into a convenience store to steal an ATM this morning.

Houston police say it happened at 3am at the Shoppers Mart in the 7000 block of Parker Road.

In the video, the crooks can be seen slamming into the front of the store twice before pulling out and parking outside. At least five men jump out and run towards the back of the store towards an ATM.

The men are seen pushing the ATM down and dragging it across the store before lifting it and placing it in the van. The entire crime happens in less than two minutes.

The store clerk says he heard a loud explosion and ducked for cover underneath the counter, where he hit the panic button and called 911. No one was injured.

The thieves are still on the run.
