Conroe convenience store clerk shot during armed robbery

One of the suspects is now in custody and two others are still on the loose after shooting a store clerk.

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- Montgomery County investigators are searching for two suspects they say shot a store clerk and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Valero station at Albert Moorehead Rd. and FM 3083.

They have already taken one suspect, who is 16-years-old, into custody.

Detectives say the three suspects walked into the gas station convenience store just after midnight and demanded money.

They began pistol whipping the clerk. Detecitves say the clerk managed to press an alarm button, and that's when the robbers started shooting.

According to investigators, the clerk was shot once in the lower back/upper leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police believe they may be driving a white Ford Fusion.
