AUSTIN, TX (KTRK) -- If you don't pay your child support, there's plenty the state of Texas can do to you. And now, they're about to take another step to get money out of non-paying parents.

According to The Texas tribute, the Attorney General's Office plans to block vehicle registration renewal for parents who get behind on their child support payments.

Beginning this fall, parents who haven't paid child support for at least six months won't be able to renew their vehicle registration.

Registration blocking is just another measure to get money out of parents behind on child support. They can also garnish wages, block unemployment benefits, deny passports, suspend your driver's license and more.

Critics argue that the new measure makes it more difficult for parents to make money to pay child support that they owe.
