A recall alert has been issued for SharkNinja blenders after consumers complained of laceration injuries.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for the BL660 blenders and says SharkNinja should provide new warnings and instructions.

According to CPSC, the blender "poses a laceration risk if consumers pour or invert the pitcher after removing the lid while the loose stacked blade assembly is still inside the pitcher."

The blender was sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, Kohl's, Macy's, Target, Walmart and other stores nationwide and online from March 2012 through September 2015 for a retail price close to $140.

For those who have the Ninja BL660 model, you can contact SharkNinja's recall hotline toll-free at (877) 593-5140. The company also says consumers should download the new revised warnings and instructions from their website.

There have been 53 reported laceration incidents.
