Children, adults injured in bus crash
Twenty-nine children and five adults were injured in a bus crash in Humble

HUMBLE, TX (KTRK) -- Twenty-nine kids from Houston Independent School District are recovering after the bus they were on got into an accident in far northeast Harris County. All were taken to hospitals after the crash.

The children were on a field trip when the bus crashed on FM 1960 near Humble. Five adults were also hurt. All of them are expected to be OK and have been discharged from hospitals.

The students, teachers and parents were from Crespo Elementary School in southeast Houston. They were on a field trip to Old MacDonald's Farm when they were struck from behind by a car as the bus was trying to exit.

Maria Arreguin, who was inside the bus with her 4-year-old son, said, "It happened so fast, I, honestly, I saw most of the kids who were on the floor because it hit the right side so everybody just fell. Everybody was crying, the kids were crying. The teachers were scared."

Everyone was transported to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. All 34 people were treated and released. The bus driver is being cited by HISD police for failure to yield while turning left.
