Steve Campion reports the latest after a school bus and a big rig collided in Liberty County

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Two women and one girl suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash. The collision just after 7am at the intersection of Highway 105 and FM 2518 in Liberty County.

Troopers said a female big rig driver blew a stop sign and slammed into the Tarkington ISD bus. According to the district, the bus had children with special needs on board. Troopers said one girl suffered minor injuries. Paramedics took her and an adult aide to a hospital in Kingwood. Troopers said the woman driving the semi-truck was also taken to a hospital in Cleveland. Four other children were not injured, according to authorities.

At a nearby roadside stand, vendor Polly McSween told abc13 she witnessed the accident. She described it as a loud crash. She said she called 911, hoping the children were not hurt.

"It (the truck) barreled through and went around here and knocked the sign over again," said McSween. "It went way down there."

Crews replaced the damaged stop sign and reopened the road around 10am.
