HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard will not face charges related to child abuse allegations, according to investigators in Georgia.

Atlanta police say they've investigated the case and are not moving forward with charges related to the incident last summer in which Howard reportedly admitted that he hit his child with a belt.

Police in Florida originally looked into the allegations in the fall, but didn't proceed with charges. Georgia officials re-opened the case back in November, but have decided not to charge Howard.
