HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deitrich Evans, 22, is scheduled to back in court today, accused of shooting a woman in the head during a road rage attack on the North Freeway back in March.

Investigators say Evans is a known gang member whose temper went unchecked back on March 20. Evans is accused of shooting 28-year-old Kay Hafford in the head during rush hour traffic in a road rage incident on the North Freeway near FM 1960.

Investigators say he got angry after Hafford honked her horn.

Investigators said Hafford honked her horn at Evans prompting him to fire off 1 shot into her car, striking her in the head.

Hafford told Eyewitness News she used "Siri" on her iPhone to call 911. Fortunately, she made a full recovery after spending just 1 day at Memorial Hermann. Evans' bond was set at $250,000.

Evans will face a judge again today as the case against him moves forward. Stay with Eyewitness News for updates.
