HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Eyewitness News has obtained the police report of last month's deadly crash into a Gulfgate area grocery store. Dorothy Davenport Barnes, 74, backed into the store and killed one person.

The report shows that after the crash, Barnes told police, "I got in my car. As I was backing out of the parking spot I heard a pop. I hit my brakes and the car started accelerating. It is possible that I might have pressed the gas instead of the brakes. The car picked up speed up until about 30 miles per hour."

The report also indicates that no blood specimen was taken from Barnes.

The victim killed in the crash was, Carla Sanchez, 31, a mother who died pushing her two-year-old child to safety. Barnes has not been charged with a crime.
