Port official facing up to life in prison for thefts

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A high level Port of Houston official is in court, awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars while working.

Former senior IT director, Robert Carl Prohl, pleaded guilty on July 1, 2014 to stealing more than $200,000 from the Port of Houston.

Prohl has pleaded guilty to three theft felonies, accused of stealing money from August 2010 to January 2013.

He faces anywhere from five years to life in prison.

The sentencing is expected to wrap up today.
