Police: Wrong way driver hits several vehicles on Highway 59

CLEVELAND, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities are on the scene of a wrong way accident involving several vehicles on Highway 59.

The accident happened just before 7pm on the freeway at Highway and 105 Bypass in Cleveland.

According to police, a driver was traveling the wrong way on the northbound lanes when the accident happened. At least four vehicles were involved in the wreck.

At least four people were injured. One crash victim was transported by LifeFlight. Some of them suffered major injuries.

According to the Cleveland Police Chief, no one has died.

The name of the female driver has not been released.

This is the second wrong way crash in the past two days. This weekend, a man went the wrong way down 59 in southwest Houston in a rampage. He was shot and killed by police.
