LA MARQUE, TX (KTRK) -- The urgent search for a missing 2-year-old La Marque boy is now over.

An Amber Alert for Mark Leeson has been discontinued after the child was reunited with his grandmother.

The boy's biological mother, 18-year-old Hailey Richter, and her 21-year-old boyfriend Zikeyas McCullum are now in custody.

Raw video shows Amanda Leeson talking with Eyewitness News after her 2-year-old was returned to her by police.

Amanda Leeson told Eyewitness News she has had custody of the little boy since he was born.

"So blessed, thank you everyone," she said, fighting back tears. "If it was not for the Amber Alert and the media, I wouldn't have this baby back right now."

Leeson says Mark was abducted Thursday night by her daughter, 18-year-old Hailey Richter, after she showed up at her house unannounced.

Richter is accused of attacking her own mother before running off with Mark.

RAW VIDEO: Sheriff's deputy keeps boy company before reunion

2-year-old Mark Leeson plays with a Harris County Sheriff's deputy inside his patrol vehicle before he's reunited with his grandmother.

"Then when she got him dressed, within five minutes, she maced me, slammed my head into the door," Amanda Leeson said.

Amanda Leeson says she ran after them, and found herself maced again. This time, Richter allegedly slammed Amanda's head against the ground.

La Marque police say Richter wasn't alone, either. Together with 21-year-old Zikeyas McCullum, she allegedly fled her mother's home with the tot inside a 1998 black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

At around 1am, police said the search came to an end when they received information about where the couple was hiding with the boy.

Officers found them in the Alief area, and say the boy's clothes had been changed while his hair was cut.

ORIGINAL STORY: Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old boy in La Marque

Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old boy in La Marque, Tracy Clemons reports.

Mark Leeson was not injured, and was reunited with his grandmother and legal caregiver.

Amanda Leeson says she's relieved, because the child has allergies his mother was not aware of; diapers, certain foods and even milk can make Mark ill.

"She knows nothing about him," Amanda said. "She took him with no medication, no breathing treatment. She left his blanket here that he can't sleep without."
