Police tackle driver after chase near downtown Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver on Houston's east side was taken into custody after a chase by police.

Houston police officers were in pursuit of the suspect near Harrisburg and 66th, just east of downtown.

When officers caught up with the driver on foot, they tackled him to the ground and took him into custody.

It's not known what prompted the chase, but there was a report of a wrong-way driver in the vicinity.
