Suspect on horse leads police on chase in Mesquite

MESQUITE, TX (KTRK) -- It was a scene right out of the Wild West. Police were involved in a pursuit, and they were chasing a suspect on horseback.

It happened in Mesquite, which is outside of Dallas Monday night. Police were responding to a fight at a rodeo. When they arrived, two men left on horseback. One surrender, but the other decided to take off on his horse.

Police eventually caught up to the fleeing man, who they say resisted arrest. They used a Taser on him to get him into custody.

Several people involved in the fight face charges that include resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
