Police: Stroller worth thousands stolen from Brooklyn stoop
Candace McCowan has more from Fort Greene.

BROOKLYN, New York -- In one Fort Greene neighborhood, it is not uncommon to see strollers everywhere, and sometimes parents will admit to leaving them outside.

The victim, in this case, said that he never leaves the stroller outside, but it was left on the landing in front of the door for just minutes - that's all it took for one thief on a mission.

According to investigators, the suspect got away with a stroller more than a thousand dollars.

"That's maybe why it was stolen - they're looking for the expensive ones to get the return on the theft," says father Sean Crottaeu.

In the family-friendly neighborhood, it is a reminder that it takes just minutes for a thief to catch you off guard and stroll off with your goods.

"Maybe get a lock - I don't know, we don't have a lock," Crottaeu says.

"People steal things, valuable things outside all the time. It doesn't matter what neighborhood you're in - they still steal stuff," says Erin Flansburg.

Police continue to look for the suspect who took the stroller. They estimate he is about 25 years old. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
