Police looking for information in southwest Houston drive by shooting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are looking for information in a drive by shooting in southwest Houston.

The shooting happened when a young man pulled up to the intersection of Bellaire, near the 6600 block of Dunlap around 9:30pm last night. A silver-tan colored truck drove up next to him and fired several shots into the driver's side.

Neighbors noticed the car moving forward straight into the front yard of a vacant home, and called 911, trying to help the man.

According to Officer Tom Ferguson of HPD Homicide, "There's unknown motive, unknown suspect, and we just have a vague description on the vehicle, so at this point we don't have a lot to go on, and we definitely need help from the public."

Police don't believe there was anyone in the car with the victim.
