Harris County sheriff deputies are searching for a suspect

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A high speed chase ended early Monday morning on a residential street in northwest Harris County.

Flashing lights and patrol cars blanketed the area off Greenwoods Forest Drive and Boyce Springs Drive. Investigators told Eyewitness News they were pursuing two to three robbery suspects in a white Nissan Altima from Montgomery County.

Investigator Mike Traylor with MCSO said two masked men entered a Walgreens in Conroe off College Park and St. Luke's Way. Once inside the store, Traylor explained the armed men demanded the clerk hand over cash. They then fled in the Nissan before deputies spotted the car at the Hardy Tollroad and the North Freeway.

Authorities on scene said the chase took them down the North Freeway onto FM 1960 at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The suspects eventually stopped, jumped out and fled on foot.

Eyewitness News crews witnessed detectives packing up a stack of money as evidence. K-9 units were called out to the spot.

Deputies are still searching for the wanted men.

A weapon and cash were recovered from the scene and bagged as evidence.
