Person hit and killed on the freeway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A person was hit and killed on the Southwest Freeway overnight, police said.

It shut down all the main lanes at Beechnut for a few hours.

It happened around 1 a.m. when someone was trying to cross the freeway and was hit by a car.

No other information was available.
