Pedestrian struck, killed trying to cross East Freeway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was hit and killed while trying to walk across the East Freeway last night.

Authorities say the victim was struck by an 18-wheeler on IH-10 between Gellhorn and McCarty around 11:20pm.

The driver of the big rig did stop and no charges are expected to be filed.

Officials have not released any information about the victim's identity.
