One person shot during northwest Harris County home invasion

One man was shot in an apparent home invasion at an apartment complext in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man and his toddler were at home in their first floor apartment when three armed men broke in. Their apartment is in the Cypress Common Apartments on Cypresswood near Cutten.

The man was shot, but is expected to be okay. He's recovering at Ben Taub Hospital. The toddler wasn't harmed.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating and tells Eyewitness News that the men stole some property, but deputies didn't specify what the men took from the apartment. Deputies say the men were spotted leaving the scene in a white BMW. They are still at large.

The 911 call came in from the neighborhood about 2:00am when the shots were fired.

The shooting and apparent home invasion are still under investigation.
