HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Detectives say one person is dead following a home invasion this morning in northwest Harris County.

It happened just after 3am at a home on the 7200 block Dew Mist Lane at Summer Dew Lane.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says two men wearing masks and black clothing forced their way into the home. The men's motive is unclear, and investigators would only say that, once the men were inside, shots were fired.

"I heard five gunshots. And then after that I heard a car literally take off really fast. And then after that I heard this lady screaming, 'Help! Help! Help!'" explained Arantza Cendejas, who lives across the street.

Police say two people were hit. One of those people died. The other person was taken to the Cy-Fair Medical Center. But Cendejas says there were more than two victims.

"They were bringing bodies out. They're giving CPR to one of the bodies. Another one had something with his legs going on, I think he was hurt. And then another body, I wasn't able to see what was going on with him, but I know that he was being pulled out into the ambulance. I saw it right outside my window. I saw everything,"Cendejas said.
