Driver killed in wreck with METRO bus in northwest Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A collision between a Houston METRO bus and an SUV in northwest Houston has killed one person, police say.

The wreck occurred at 9am in the 1700 block of Magnum, near Hempstead Highway, just south of Highway 290.

Houston police confirm one person has died, and Houston METRO officials say the victim was the driver of the SUV. The bus was not in service at the time.

METRO officials say initial information is that the driver of the SUV ran a stop sign, striking the bus. The bus driver was not seriously hurt.
