Officer shoots armed suspect at gas station in Polk County

ONALASKA, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities in Polk County are investigating an officer-involved shooting at a gas station in Onalaska.

It happened around 1:30pm Tuesday in the parking lot of the Valero off Highway 190 and FM 3459.

Onalaska police responded to reports of a man with a gun who is firing shots. Police arrived and the suspect opened fire.

An officer returned fire and hit the suspect. He was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

The officer was treated on the scene and appears to be OK.
