HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The trash is piling up at an illegal dumping site in northwest Houston, and according to neighbors, the City of Houston is not helping.

"Couches, sofas, beds," business owner Mike Skobla described. "It's been there for a long time."

The trash site is located at Campbell Road and Genard in northwest Houston. Most of the debris has been dumped along a winding section of Campbell.

"You feel like you are driving through a garbage dump," said Skobla.

Aside from the typical glass and plastic bottles, there's tires, shopping carts, mattresses, toilets, kids toys and even an upside down hot tub. Skobla said it's been there since this summer. Walking through the debris, Eyewitness News found animal bones, which explains why close by we saw what appears to be a coyote scavenging the area.

Skobla said he has called the city Houston to clean up the mess, but so far according to emails he showed us, thirty day deadline have not been met.

"It aggravates me that we pay a lot of taxes and we are not asking for much but to pick it up," said Skobla.

Eyewitness News reached out to the city of Houston late Thursday afternoon. A representative there said she would look into the matter and give us a status report Friday morning.
