AUSTIN, TX (KTRK) -- Some movers are in hot water after they allegedly left an entire duplex in the middle of a road in Austin.

The company was trying to move the home but found out the hard way that it wouldn't fit.

The duplex snapped tree limbs, damaged utility lines and a telephone poll, and caused a big mess when it blocked a residential road.

Austin officials say the company didn't have a permit to move the home.

Neighbors like Johnathan Byrd were stuck with the inconvenience of trying to find a way around the residence.

"It's too big to...it's too big to move it out of here," Byrd says. "I don't even know what they were thinking."

The house is expected to be moved sometime Monday at the earliest.

The moving company, meantime, may face some fines for allegedly leaving the house in the street.
