Neighbor helps nab burglary suspect on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The quick thinking actions of a neighbor is being credited with helping catch a crook on Friday.

Around 12:45pm, a woman on Houston's south side called 911 about a burglary in progress. She reported two men in a white van leaving her next door neighbor's home.

HPD responded and noticed the getaway car several blocks away. They stopped the car, arrested one man and recovered the victim's items.

As you can imagine, she was very grateful for the assistance.

"This was an ending I was not anticipating. I was not anticipating a Friday like this," said the homeowner who wished not to be identified. "If I had to have one like this one, it has somewhat of a happy ending."

Another accused burglar ran away. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers.
