Need help with rent? Harris County can help

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- The Harris County Housing Authority will reopen its voucher program this morning for people who need help with their rent.

They'll begin accepting applications at 9am from low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled. You can apply on their website at www.hchatexas.org.

You can only apply online from Monday, Oct. 21 through 5pm on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The disabled are able to get help with their applications by calling 713-669-4566.

Applicants will need the following to fill out their applications:

• Their name
• A social security number
• Date of birth for all members of your household
• List of all income received by members of the household
