Missing Houston girl found safe in LA
Alexis Johnson, 6, was found safe in Louisiana and her alleged kidnapper was taken into police custody

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled after a young Houston girl was found safe in Louisiana. The mother's ex-boyfriend was taken into police custody.

Alexis Johnson, 6, was spotted with Harvey Eugene York, Jr., in Zwolle, Louisiana, which is just outside of Shreveport. The parish in that area reportedly had choppers in the air searching for the vehicle.

According to York's sister, the kidnapping suspect came to her home in Zwolle with Johnson on Sunday. She and her mother pleaded with him to leave the girl, but he took off so they called police.

The family tells ABC13 they were not worried York would harm the girl, but were concerned he may get in an accident attempting to evade police.

Johnson had last been seen with York on Sunday after York got into an argument with her mother and was told to leave.
