Massive bee colony takes over Dickinson-area home

DICKINSON, TX (KTRK) -- Another bee colony is giving homeowners fits, and this time, the bees are said to be very aggressive.

The bees are nesting between the first and second floor of a home off Hughes Road near Dickinson.

The homeowners say these bees are not playing around.

"They are really aggressive. When we try to mow in here and weed eat, they attack us and we can't get any job done while they are there," homeowner Jordan Parker said.

The hive is not easy to get to. For three years, the bees have been building their home between the first and second floor of this house.

There are now so many bees inside the walls the Hardie Planks are starting the bulge outward. The bees have got to go so the family called in a professional. WATCH LIVE: http://abc13.com/live/23374/

"He said that there was probably around 200 pounds of honey, and like I said 100 to 150,000 bees that are in there," Parker said.
