HOUSTON -- Authorities pulled a man's body from a shallow, murky bayou in southwest Houston this morning.

The body was found around 7:00am near Skyline Drive at Unity.

Homicide investigators are trying to piece together how he died. He's described only as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old.

His body was found the morning after gunshots were reported in the area, according to police.

Houston Police Department Homicide Sgt. Steven Murdoch said, "He hasn't been here very long...not more than 12 hours. So that puts the gunshots that were heard at 7pm last night right about that time. But we found no shell casings, we found no weapon."
