HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man returning home after grabbing some food at McDonald's was shot and robbed in northwest Houston.

Police say it happened around 10:00pm last night in the parking lot of an apartment complex at Gessner and Shadow Wood.

The victim told police two men walked up to him and attempted to rob him. One of the two crooks then shot the victim in the stomach before both of them ran off. It's unclear if they took anything.

The victims' parents heard the shooting, found their son and drove him Memorial Hermann Northwest. He was then taken by LifeFlight to Hermann in the Medical Center.

The victim is expected to survive.

HPD says they are working to determine if the same two suspects are behind another robbery and shooting on Skyline Drive and a third shooting on West 34th Street.
