HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are asking for the public's help to a man who assaulted a store employee after he tried to steal a bag of merchandise from a store in north Houston back in September.

The attempted robbery happened on September 9, just after 11am at a business in the 500 block of Crosstimbers.

Police say the man took a bag and started filling it with items from the store, and when he tried to leave without paying, the store employee tried to stop him. However, the man pushed the employee to the floor and grabbed the bag. The employee struggled with the man, and eventually pulled the bag away from the man.

As for the suspect, police say he ran out of the store and hopped on a green bicycle.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 50 years old, black, about 5'9" to 5'11" with a slim build. He has short black hair and a graying black mustache and beard. He wore a navy Houston Texans t-shirt.
