Apartment complex argument leads to deadly shooting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An early morning shooting left one person dead.

It started around 1:00am this morning at the Park Deville Apartments in the 8300 block of Park Place in southeast Houston.

Police say two men got into some type of argument. One man walked into an apartment, and the male victim followed him. The resident grabbed his gun from his apartment and shot the victim inside of the apartment unit.

The victim ran out of the apartment and into the street where he collapsed. Friends tried to take him to a hospital, but he died at the scene.

Police say the victim was a male in his 20's.

Police are talking to several witnesses and the shooter who claims it was self-defense.
