Man found dead in street after mystery shooting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in the street Saturday morning.

It happened at Truxillo and Dowling in the Third Ward.

It happened around 4:40 Saturday morning.

Officers say the witnesses heard gunfire but no one saw anything. There are no witness. The victim did not have an identification on him.

The man is known to spend time in the area but it's not known if he lives nearby.

No word on a suspect description.
