Man dead after shooting in west Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man is dead after a shooting in west Houston.

The shooting happened after some sort of altercation around 3:30am near the intersection of Chaparral and Knoboak Drive.

A neighbor says she heard shouting and then three gunshots.

The scene is now locked down. One person was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, but he later died.

Homicide investigators are on the scene. Officers are looking at vehicles down the street.
