Man charged in deadly hit-and-run accident in Santa Fe

Michael Shawn Williams was arrested on Sunday in League City for an unrelated case.

Santa Fe police have charged a man in a deadly hit and run killed a 16-year-old teen.

Police arrested Michael Williams on August 16 on an outstanding warrant from Galveston County. That warrant was for an unrelated case.

Santa Fe police say several days earlier, a truck registered to Williams is the one that hit Douglas Bleimeyer who was riding a bike on FM 646 North. The 16-year-old died.

Williams now faces charges of Accident involving Injury or Death, which is a second degree felony. His bond is set at $300,000.

The funeral for Bleimeyer was held last week.
