Suspect arrested, charged in fatal shooting in the Heights

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police say they've arrested a man they believe shot and killed a man who was unloading groceries outside of a condominium in the Heights.

Curtis Friday Odigie, 21, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Then Huynh, 32.

Police say on January 9, Huynh arrived at his girlfriend's condominium in the 5300 block of Darling and began unloading groceries. Witnesses called police after hearing screaming and a gunshot.

Responding officers found Huynh lying on the ground outside the residence. He died a short time later at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

Witnesses told police two suspects fled the scene in a gray or teal Series 7 BMW.

Further investigation led to Odigie who was taken into custody without incident on Saturday.
